I can’t say this was exactly planned. Creator has been speaking to me about something for a while, but I kept pushing it aside and trying to stay focused on what I had been guided to months ago.

I’ve always known I’m supposed to educate. I’m passionate about decolonized education. But beyond having honest conversations with my daughter and posts on social media, I haven’t put much effort into education.

Creator has been in my ear, and the ancestors have been at work. Through a series of events, I unexpectedly have web hosting and I need to make use of it. I know it’s not coincidence. I’m being guided. And I also know that if I don’t listen, Creator can and will use something like Helene to get my attention. I learned my lesson the first time.

I’m not sure where this will go, but I know where it’s gonna start.

I use current events as a big part of my homeschooling. We talk about the things going on around us, how they affect us, and how they came to be in the first place. I think a lot of parents shy away from these topics because of their complexity, but not me. I’m not raising a child that blindly follows systems. I’m raising a child that will challenge established systems and fight to build better ones.

I would love to create a space where kids can learn about politics and all these big topics in a way they can understand. So I’m giving it a shot.

Bigger picture…

I can host up to 10 sites and I only have this one. First of all, if you need a website for a reasonable cost, reach out. I can host you and build it for you. And I’m not gonna charge you some ridiculous amount or make you sign a contract. I have 14 years of web development experience with a company that originally owned all the local newspapers here and then branched out to create a digital media agency. I know what and how they charge you and how they hold your website hostage. That ain’t me and that’s not how I do business.

Another vision I have is a decolonized social learning environment. What does that look like? I honestly don’t know yet. But the fact it’s been on my mind for almost 2 years and the same day I unexpectedly gained web hosting a relative reached out and asked me about this exact thing? It may or may not ever come to fruition, but I’m not ignoring the signs. I would love to find individuals who share the vision and would like to build something like this with me. Other than that, I don’t have a real plan for this space. I’m sure I’ll share some stories and go on random rants. One thing’s for sure. I’m not gonna let the hosting go to waste. Cheers to new beginnings!
